Hi,

I had a website which was active for over two years. It only sold one ebook which was not a great success. I had intended to completely overhaul the whole site, but there was a mix-up with my webhost and the domain name was not re-registered when it expired a month ago. The new content that I intend to upload is completely unrelated to the old, but fits quite nicely with the domain name. My options seem to be to either register a new domain for the new content or to wait a month to to re-register the old domain name.

What I can't seem to find out is: 'How much do the search engines value the length of time that a site has been active and will the fact that it will be down for two months have any effect?'. If this is something they place value on, it seems that it would be better for me to wait a month to re-register the old domain.

I'm really not sure what to do and would appreciate some help.
