Free Inbound links - "Very Effective"
Do a search via Google in your niche, looking for websites that allow you to place comments in.
Look for sites that are within the first two pages of Google. You only want High PR sites to post in. And make your comments very interesting and informative also... I have great success with this form of marketing.

Just set up a Google Alert for your keyword. Then every day you will get an email from Google with the blogs in your niche, at which point you can comment and get a backlink (as long as it is DoFollow).

Nice tip flashgordon, also remember to check if the forums or blogs you are posting on are do follow or no follow if they are no follow the backlinks are useless and they wont spread the pr juice to your site

comment hut is also a pretty decent piece of software for finding high pr blogs to post on. Make sure you use a keyword when posting!

I wanted to make another comment. comment hut doesn't tell you if the blog that it finds are no follow whereas real link finder.com does. You can also do a search for your keyword at commenthunt.com which I knew times to follow blogs. Hope this helps
