You may also want to keep in mind that targeting locally can help you much more in your sales than targeting nationally, as you can streamline your advertisements.

Making sure that your business is able to easily be found throughout the internet is a vital part of increasing your sales. If you're customers can't find you, how can they do business with you?

3. Give your customers a place to voice their opinion. The internet has become one of the main places that people, including your customers, receive their information from, therefore listing your business on websites which allow for reviewing your services and rating them, can also be very beneficial to your business.

4. Give your customers updates, promotions, and thanks. Using email marketing is a quick way to let your customers know what's going on with your business, any new products, services, or features you may be offering, and they also give you the opportunity to offer your customers special promotions. Newsletters keep your customers connected and remind them of who you are, what you do, and what you can do for them.

All of the above tips can help to cut down your costs, while effectively reaching your customer base. The worst thing you can possibly do in a tough economy, is cut your advertising/marketing budget completely. Bad economic times provide an opportunity for many businesses, especially small and new businesses. It's during this time that you should really take advantage of the bad economy and push your company in front of consumers.
