I use blogs for most of my marketing strategies
Search engines love blogs. i would dare to say that search engines are in love with blogs. they always index them and give them high value.
it would be a big mistake if you are not using blogs as part of your marketing strategies. the best marketing result i have ever had are from my blogs. plus blogs are really so easy to set up. i call blogs push button publishing. cos with just some few clicks you have a whole website running. and in less than no time, the search engines spiders come crawling and making love to your blog by indexing them. ![]() i am still finding out why search engine like blogs so much, but as for how i don't hesitate to use them in any instance.

Nice post - blogs are an excellent way to get traffic through search engines. While I can't say definitively why search engines love blogs so much, I believe it is for two reasons: 1) fresh content and 2) content that has value. The better your content, the better your blog and the more valuable it becomes. Perhaps robots can't judge the quality of your content, but the number and duration of visits might be used as an indicator.

Sure, blogs are great because they are semi-automated, but SEs love regular websites just as much (if you set them up right and ping the spiders). What SEs really love is a properly designed site (blog or not) and fresh content.

Yes, a well-designed website with fresh content is just as good as a blog in many ways. A blog is simply an extension of a website, one piece of the puzzle. It is a great medium for not only introducing fresh content, but also for connecting with your customers on a more personal level. In regards to SEO, blogs allow for many longtail opportunities that might otherwise be nonsensical or even overkill on the main website.
Consider this: you don't want a typo on your website, but a major keyword you'd like to target is indeed a typo. You can use this typo as an H1 tag in a blog headline that revolves around online typos! This way, you can still take advantage of that great keyword your competitors are ignoring and continue to establish credibility with your clients - in essence, you've just optimized for a typo without looking like a jackass.

Ditto.
I prefer wordpress blogs and have slowly been converting my sites to them. The SEO tools are built-in and the plugins are like having thousands of programmers working for you for free. Don't forget, forums like this are also great tie-ins to blogs and are indexed frequently. Both have current relevant and unique content. (They are like honey to bears and flies)
