What is your Digg advertizing strategy?
I would like to raise a question about social book sites here! What are your ideas, recommendations and strategies on how to promote a website in social networks like Digg, Delicious and others? Is there any sense to perform website submission to social networking sites and how to get high amounts of traffic as a result? Could you please share your own experience on this matter?

Most people just use them for link backs.
To really get something out of them, you have to create a story or have news that is buzz worthy enough to go viral and spread. If this can be achieved, then the real gold is gotten as sources outside these social networks pick up the story and you get major press and major back links. Some people talk about buying votes, or diggs, but it's a waste of money and time, if the story is not good enough to go viral on it's own. I am no expert, just my opinion

I agree with Ron Killian on this, most people use social bookmarking sites for backlinks. Buying votes on Digg is not worth the money unless you have a really compelling story - but then if you did it would get voted up naturally.

Better off taking the money you'd spend on getting votes or diggs to hire a good writer to create a story that will get you what you want. That would be a much better investment, with a real return.

I too agree with Ron, All what matters is a good Story. Some other good sources for getting good results from digg is through Video Submissions. But again the bottom line remains the same, to video should be a good and informative and should have the ability to go viral but itself.
You can also make a good & informative presentation and then convert it to video and submit it to digg, if you dont have a video for you. Regards |
