Hello all, I just wanted to post a reminder for those trying to generate traffic to their sites, blogs, etc.

Most people should know this already but for those who don't hope this was able to enlighten you!

Remember that you're trying to chase after targeted traffic.

sometimes you may find yourself looking at products or services that will promise to bring in heaps of traffic.

Remember that the best kind of traffic is the the kind where people are already interested in what you're talking about.

So make sure if you intend to use a product or service to help you generate traffic that you make sure that it will generate targeted traffic.

If your are chasing a targeted traffic then you should be emphasizing more towards targeted marketing or niche marketing, that is, targeting a particular segment or niche.

There is still a group of people who concentrate on getting more and more traffic to their website, without realizing that if they are not targeted to that site they will have no reason to stay and explore for any real length of time.

Targeted marketing also helps to brand your site as one that appeals to a particular group of people. It can take several attempts to reach the audience you want, but targeted advertising makes you stand out to that group of people and they will be more likely to remember you when they want to find out more about your services.

You can probably chase a targeted traffic by:

1. When you begin to write an article do a little research into which keywords you should use within the post.
2. Visit "like" blogs and comment on relevant posts, there is a good chance other (targeted) people reading those posts may click on the link in the comments bringing targeted traffic to your site.
3. Write some good "link Bait", this is content which is likely to get linked to by other webmasters.
4. Exchange links with related sites.
5. Write "How To" posts, if you can pass on valuable relevant information on a "how To subject then there is a good chance you will be found by a search engine giving you more targeted traffic.
6. Sign up to AdWords, depending on your budget it may or may not be worth joining AdWords. Because of the way it works AdWords does deliver very targeted traffic to your site.
