Submitting your homepage to directories is a great way to get maximal traffic to your site. By joining social bookmarking sites like digg, reddit etc etc, or Twittering, Facebooking etc, many people have been able to promote their site through these different SEO methods. Submiting specific pages on your website to deep link directories is another way can bring in attention to your site that would otherwise be nonexistant. Through these specific pages that normally would not be visited, people can see a page of what your site offers and then also be lured into searching through your site once there.

Be creative in how you promote your site but don't excessively depend on just one method alone to bring you traffic. You should try a few of the many SEO techniques, (all in moderation ofcourse) and it should be able to bring in a decent amount of traffic to your site.
