What are the Best Opt-In Email Marketing Companies?

In your opinion, what are the best and legitimate opt-in or double opt-in email marketing companies out there? What are the ones to stay away from?

I'm not talking about email distribution companies like Constant Contact, but actual companies who have legitimate lists they use. I'm sure that there are some effective ones out there, as well as ones to stay away from.

These companies would be the ones who would send the emails using their own servers.

I have my own list, but it seems to be stagnant. So, I'd like to increase my list size.

Thanks!

Not exactly what your asking. Do you mean services like Aweber or actually companies that handle the mail, like messages, ect?

I personal prefer to build my own list with Aweber as the mail provider. Of course building your own list gives you more control.

If your list is stagnant and not growing, sounds like your not promoting it.

Unless I missed what your asking.

there are companies who provide "opt-in" and "double opt-in" email services. I know that there are legitimate services out there who will get your message out to people who subscribe to promotional material, etc.

I was looking at a couple like directmediaoptin.com, but I don't know if they are legitimate or not. Postmasterdirect.net is an email list rental service that I used in the past, years ago, but I don't know if members on this forum have any suggestions on who they've used.

Aweber is an email service platform, I think, right? We've used Constant Contact for years.

My challenge is to get folks to a brand new site so that they can sign up for a 14 day free trial.

It sounds like you might be asking about "Autoresponder Services", and which ones are reputable.

Like Ron mentioned, AWeber is a good one. I think ProSender is the other big one. (Those two tend to be the ones at the top of the list.)

They provide the code for the forms for visitors to submit the information you want to capture, handle the double opt-in, have white-listed server IPs (which is super-important!), make it easy to manage your lists and messages, etc. And they handle all the CAN-SPAM legal compliance.

They aren't cheap, but if you are intending to profit from a list, they are well worth it.

Personally, the white-listing and the legal compliance make it worth the price.

No they are companies who send your email (often a one shot deal) to an opt-in list based on demographics, etc. We don't own the list. We've used Constant Contact using our own list, which is similar to aweber. Constant Contact does not send emails to lists that don't belong to you.

Prosender builds a subscription list on YOUR sites based on who signs up on your sites. That's not what I am looking for.

The companies I am looking for to advertise are the ones when you subscribe for certain information or products, and there is a "You agree to receive special offers from our partners" check mark. These are often found on sites such as cNet, and other product oriented sites. What companies do with that list is rent them to email brokerage houses, where people like us want to focus on new business.

It's a very common and legal thing to do since the person asked for this information, but I wanted to get some insight from the forum on who they've used and had the best success in this area.

Your talking about Co-Reg, or Co-registration.

Not exactly the easiest route to go and better chance of spam complaints. Depends on the service.

I personally would rather spend the money on ads, like adwords, because Co-Reg can be risky.

Um, guys did I miss something here?
I think he's asking if anyone knows of any companies offering rental/usage GOOD - EFFECTIVE mailing lists.
Most that I've used fell flat.

I'd like this too.
Are there any good email lists out there?

Ditto, I also suspect that this post is regarding companies that offer specifically targeted mailing lists to the subject matter one is dealing with. I would also like to know if there are any reputable or recommended ones out there....

I just started testing out a co registration company. Here are the keypoints.

1. The co reg company must run YOUR ad on their co reg network. Not a generic ad.
2. They must do their own confirm opt in process so that the leads you get are already
confirmed opt in.
3. You must send to the leads immediately. You should get the leads in real time at the latest 24 hours old.
4. In your autoresponder campaign you must have fields which remind them of their ip and the information they submitted when they joined.

I am getting about 600-800 per day and I have had no problems.
Expect to pay about 30 cents to 50 cents each for these leads.

If you send to older co reg leads that did not specifically opt in for your deal you really are taking chances on complaints. I am doing a coop with a couple of people on these leads but all the positions are filled now.
