Aside from EZA, do you guys actually get traffic from the other Article Directories?

I know I can just google 'article directory'. But how many of those are just junk?

I've posted stuff to GoArticles with zero results.

I've read several posts on this forum advocating Bum Marketing, but are you all just using EZA or other articles?

Ezine articles is really the best article directory when it comes to traffic. I submit to Ezine for traffic, but I submit to the other directories just for back links. Some times Article base could give you some traffic too, but their directory is nofollow so it discourages me from submitting there.

Think the bum marketing concept really depends on the number of articles you write a day. The more the better.

Do ezine articles really help to build your site rankings? Latley I've been hearing that some links are not beneficial. How do you know if a site will help your rank or not?? Is there a quick way to check?

Yes, I have got traffic from Go Articels. There are about 50 different sites that I use from time to time. Include Digg in your submission.

Let's take it a set further. Take you articels and turn them into a podcast and submit to podcast sites. Then turn it into a video using windows movie maker and submit to video sites-use Tube Mogul or Traffic Geyers. Tube Mogul is a free program.

Once you add this see what happens.

The ones I've used are Scribd, Buzzle, Ezine Articles, Articles Factory, iSnare, and Go Articles. The only thing is make sure if you use Buzzle, it is an original article (not used on any other site) and only used there. Still a good site!

Have you tried any of the press release sites? Some--not all--of them will allow articles as well as press releases. Some of them are strict about what an article is and is not (advertising), but if you follow the editor's guidelines, you'll be fine. I have a list of those if you are ever interested.

Personally I'm not crazy about article marketing because the lack of control over where the articles where posted. After writing some "great" reports (time consuming), over the next several months I found them posted on extremely unrelated websites, which probably just hurt my SEO efforts.

1- For those of you successfully using article marketing, are you doing it for the SEO value, or you are getting direct traffic from the articles?

2- Is anyone aware of article directories that require author approval before an article is posted somewhere?

Ideamarketers.com is also pretty good. I've used it a few times.

I get a lot of traffic from Ezine Articles. They have strict rules but they are good to linking to.
