Arrow Landing Page vs. Home Page!

Most experienced internet marketers say that if you advertise in pay per click search engines, you should have a landing page for driving the pay per click traffic to it. This landing page is different from home page and should be just focused on selling the product whereas the home page should be optimized for search engines and so is not good in generating sales.

They say home page is not a suitable page to drive the pay per click traffic to it and you waste money if you do that. It means a page that is optimized for search engines can not generate sales.

I don't agree with this idea because if optimization disables the home page to sell the products to the visitors, so the traffic it receives from search engines, will be useless. So why should we optimize it?

What do you think?

Cool Read This...

Check out how I have my home page, http://www.onlineredirect.com, and my sub pages which I use for pay per click traffic:

2 examples
http://www.acurasource.info
http://www.playstationcentral.info

If you go through it, you will see very easily how this works.

Smile This makes sense.

Yes I see. It can tell you why you should have different pages for the PPC traffic.

Something that I wanted to tell and ask you is that you have made the affiliates links the same as the Google Adsense links. This is good because users will click on them more but I think (I am not sure) it is against Adsense terms of use. You have to make sure if I am right or not because it is possible that your website becomes banned from the Adsense.

Arrow Info about Search Engines

I think you know the job of Search engines. Let me tell u again. SE gives relevant information to the users who passes the search queries. The more the relevance the higher the chances to visible in SE basing on other algorithms too. So, users know well that the page that is mostly visible to them for the information they check is reliable and hence the chances opens widely for the webmasters to convert them into leads. This is also the best reason why GOOGLE doesn't accept your landing page to be different from your homepage.

A landing page is best because you have future control after you have built rating and traffic to it. You can change your affiliate product without losing your built up traffic or rating.

Don’t send your PPC traffic to your web site’s home page, because 95% of the time the home page will generate terrible conversions. Why? Because usually it’s just not relevant enough to the keyword your visitor searched on. In other words, if the searcher types in “blue high heel shoes” don’t send them to your home page with many shoes. They don’t want any shoes, they want a blue high heel shoes!

So, when you create a pay per click campaign, you send your customer exactly to the place of product or service they are looking for.
