| Now we're down to the most critical part of search engine marketing. Your goal is to give the search engines what they want to find on your web pages and to be able to compete effectively in a shifting reality. How do you find out what they want to know? Read on. Search your keywords in Google and go to the top 10 sites to see what makes them rank so high. Study them, looking for: • Content • Keyword placement • Keyword density • Keyword counts • Link popularity • Word counts While you're at it, it wouldn't hurt to make note of the use of colour, white space, graphics and testimonials on these top ten websites. You might pick up some good ideas to improve the look and feel of your own website. Copying success is a technique that's older than dirt. Do Not Plagiarize The Site's Content Though! This task can be impossible if done manually. A Google search for "analyzing Keyword density" turned up more than a few FREE tools to do the job for me. |
