Home Business Marketing Tips and How To's
Making the decision to open your own home business is indeed a wise decision.
Give yourself a pat on the back and relax, just for a little, because once you have started up a home business, the hard part is just begun. There are several things you should be aware of as you begin. The first thing you need to think about is marketing. This is one thing many people starting a home business don't take into consideration. But in reality, marketing is the backbone of any business, whether online or offline. The first thing to consider is "who is your key audience"? Are you going to be marketing to kids, to adults, or to another age bracket? Are you going to market to both men and women, or just one gender? Think about what it is that will seperate your prospects from the world at large. Once you have figured out who your target market is, then you can begin to advertise and market your home business. There are several ways you can do this. Most likely if you are just beginning, you don't have a lot of money, so here are just a few tips on some free marketing. 1. You can sign up in several Traffic Exchange programs and put a small advertisement with the link to your website in these exchanges. You can then surf and look at other peoples websites in exchange for credits to get your website shown. You can buy traffic credits if you don't have time to surf. 2. Join discussion forums that relate to your home business and join the discussions or post articles in the forum that relate to the discussion. You will need to be sure to put your home business website in your signature file within the forums. Also set up your signature file to go out in all your outgoing email. 3. Find home business ezines that offer free advertising and put your ad in as many as you can find. Do a search on Google for free ezine advertising. Be sure you only post in your niche market categories. You will get lots of leads in this way. Always remember, getting a "list" is the key to your marketing success. 4. Create a weekly or monthly newsletter and fill it with all your updates and any special promotions that accompany your product or services. Email it to everyone on your contact list. You can also use regular mail. Regular mail (snailmail) can have a powerful effect on your home business. 5. Ask for testimonials from others who have used your products or services. Testimonials play a big part in your marketing ventures. 6. Learn to write good ad copy or hire a professional to write one for you. Having good ad copy your sales will soar. With bad ad copy you will lose many sales which is a known fact. If you have some capital to invest in your home business, then you might want to consider advertising in your local newspapers and directories. If you have money, the possibilities are endless. You might even want to use radio or tv. Many people make use of public motivational speakers. Don't under estimate the power of "word of mouth" advertising! This is cheap and also viral. You don't have to try and "sell" your product. Just let people know what you do for a living and answer their questions. You will be surprised at how this will help grow your home business! There are numerous ways to market your home business, but this will give you some ideas and a good start. For your sake and for the sake of your business you must never under estimate the power of marketing! Noah & Clara Nolt
