Hello. I have been online less than 4 months and would appreciate any help in getting started with internet marketing. I attended a seminar recently here in Nottingham and, although I enjoyed the free event, I simply didn't understand much of what was being said. Even so I would like to become further involved.

I suppose the best place for me to begin would be to promote other people's products but I'd need someone to walk me through the whole process - ie choosing a niche, building a website, securing traffic, etc, as well as creating paypoints, links, etc.

Can anyone offer me coaching/mentoring please?

What you need is to make sure you don't lose your time and money with some kind of guru that are promising overnight success. success is the reward of hard work and commitment.

I've lost myself a lot of time and money searching around and that is why now, since I have finally found the right help and learned a lot since then, am helping others by guiding them in the right direction.

If it's your will, I would be glad to that for you, but I don't push just guide.

I phil. Appreciate what it means to be a newbie as we've all been there. I've been earning online now for 10 years so I like to think that I have learnt quite a lot though there still remains things that I don't know. I recently built the website aimed at exactly your problem. I'm trying to help those who are new to online marketing and the Internet with the basics and take them step-by-step to the strategy is for making money online.

Please be careful not to waste time or money as you have been advised by the last poster on the many scams and exaggerated claims that exist out there. I fully agree that the only way to be successful in affiliate marketing is firstly to acquire the knowledge and secondly to work hard on applying it. Finding a niche is not that difficult. You need to do a bit of research but let your interests and your experience guide you in the general area that you want to go in. I would always advise somebody to find a niche where not only do they have experience but they really have an interest as there is nothing worse than working in a field which you really really do not like. It will come through and your visitors will understand your lack of enthusiasm.

I've never thought about coaching before but would be open to offers I guess.

Im no guru, only been doing this for a year, but feel I am in a position to help the absolute newbie (or noob as they are now calling them.) In fact I just decided that not one single product out there is suitable for total, and I mean absolute, newbies. There is so much terminology that is bandied about, willy nilly, without a thought to a new user without exposure or experience.
I had thought about starting a blog that goes into the various possibilities of earning on line, with acronyms explained and dangers afforewarned, I am just gathering info for this and, as the experiences are so fresh in my mind, I would love to pass them on to others, before I forget them and become as complacent as every other experienced internet marketer.
If anyone wants help, or wants to help me with this site please PM me.

There are a lot of great educational materials out there but be careful who you buy from. A lot of guys don't walk the talk. Unfortunately I've lost a lot of money with people who said they were all that and then some but really were not.

About 3 months ago I started following Glen Hopkins and have learned a lot from him and his training. He is the real deal -- even a best selling author!

For those that are new and would like to learn a few things about internet marketing/blogs/PPC advertising - there is a free class which is going to start in 1-2 weeks - it will be the 2009 version of theThirtyDayChallenge.com. I think all it takes is for you to research and read a lot of materials online. There are a lot of resources on Ezinearticles.com that can help you get started.

If you need to understand the whole process of internet marketing and how it works especially on affiliate marketing, I could recommend you the book written by Ewen Chia recently. He is a recognized worldwide expert on affiliate marketing.

His book is called "How I Made My First Million On The Internet And How You Can Too!". Go to amazon and search for it. You should be able to find it.
