Every one here has valid points of what it takes to succeed online the one thing I did not see here was to remember to Focus on Time Management. Distractions are easy when online, before you go to bed at night set your personal work schedule for the next day then set the attainable goals for the next day. A plan is key to the path of self discipline that will guide your success.

I'm with mariaTom. Persistence, good content, and a passion about what you do. Just the same as any other business really.

Oursource

I have another thing to add:

Outsource what you can't do well instead of doing a poor job yourself.
If what you do looks amateurish you will have a hard time convincing people
that you are a professionsl so it is much better to outsource something that
you are not good at.

For example:
Graphics
Copywriting
Article Writing
etc.

I recently received an email claiming that extrovert entrepreneurs are more likely to succeed than introverted entrepreneurs.

Introverted entrepreneurs are likely to be afraid to seek out personal guidance and training from people who are already successful. With this reluctance to seek advice you decrease your chances of success by reinventing the wheel and going at it alone.

Extroverted entrepreneurs are NOT afraid to seek out someone who has already reached the level of success you want, and then extract every single detail of how they achieved that success, and use it for your own personal gain.

What do you think?

I would add:
Plan -you have to plan where what and how to advertise
- how much you could make of it (if you're selling $5 ebooks, you won't become a millionaire overnight, although, you have little chance to sell 1-2 $500 training courses in your first month).
- you have to be able to change your plan.
If you are promoting something, changed the techniques, drove targeted visitors to your site and still nothing, it is possibly no your fault.
