Heard a guy say today it depends from which side you look. He has made LOTS of money in the recession! And I believe him. The money some people loose goes somewhere. It changes hands. Are you where it's going, ready to receive it? I definitely want to learn from this guy I listened to today!

I agree, recessions are opportunities in disguise. If you want a handle on how long this thing may go on for, search Harry S Dent Jr, his book The roaring 2000's gives a window on where things could head through to 2035. Also Robert Kiyosaki is about to release a book "Conspiracy of the Rich". Both of these are great reads if you want to dig that deep. Cheers.

I feel it is going to be longer than we hope. We as conumers need to change our habits before things will get better. By this I mean start living within our means and stop raking everyting up on credit.

when you are down there is no other way but to go up. But it takes time.

I believe the worse is over. As the saying goes, what goes down will have to come back up. Asia is already recovering well.

I think the worst is behind us...were only in this position because of over inflated house prices. We know that...we'v moved past it. Now lets think about the future.

The problem has been that the property market took off at breakneck speed and now needs to cool back down again. That is what is happening now and house prices are now settling. I do not know what has caused this to happen in the first place but I think that we are on the road to recovery slowly but surely.
