In Reply: What Is A RSS FEED
Really Simple Syndication
In other words its a Really Simple form of Media Distribution Most news and weather websites have an RSS feed An example: Take a weather site for instance you looking for current news and you want to view it daily, you can get the rss feed from that site and put it on yours and it keeps current data. www.usnationalguide.com Entire site is a great example of RSS Driven Website |

Just to elaborate on that, you can tell an RSS reader to download any thing that is consistently published. Depending on your reader it can go to your inbox or straight to your desktop.
Its not uncommon now for people to publish audio RSS (in the form of a podcast) that can also be automatically downloaded. |

yes and the real powerful things with this is that when you update people can set alerts to tell them you just posted a new blog or what ever...so they keep revisiting. I have a few site in which i use this and it works well.

great answers so far.. to put it simplest, it is a feed of information (usually news or articles) that is taken from an outside source that you can put on your website, you won't have to worry about updating it, because it does so automatically.

Thanks for sharing.
To be honest, I never bothered to look into RSS. After reading a little, I'm sure it's worth looking it more. |
