Buy me a Beer?
To have or not to have a blog?

How can a blog help in my marketing efforts? Is it or is it not worth starting a blog?

I have been seeing all these ads about Blogs and am wondering,,,are they as great as they say they are? Also, what is something you look for before getting one?

Lightbulb Blogs do work!

I have been using BLOGS now for my marketing for around 8 to 9 months and they have definitely increased my opt-in lists.

First thing to look for is where to run your BLOG and the software to use to run it.

There are a lot of good Blog software available and most of it is in the Open Source area. I don't wish to promote any specific products but I use two that I find both very good, I also have friends that use different ones to myself but they are also quite good products.

As for hosting I am involved with three specific BLOGS two are hosted on servers run by the people using them the other is hosted on my own server all of them work equally as well as each other.

I have just written an article on this matter. You can see it at:

Talking

Hi All,

I have created a blog but I have never post to it, which is unusual for me.

But, I do have 2 forums of my own, and I moderate 5 other forums.

Currently, I prefer a forum over having and using a blog.

BTW, A blog is easy to set up and maintain than having a forum with members.

Like anything else on the internet, the more you post and partake in internet communities the better your website link count will become, the move ways you can be found on the net.

Try the free bloggers: Example http://blogger.com
Very good. Easy to use.

Good luck.

Hi,

If you have a business already, a blog is very useful to post information about your business on it. Like daily updates, new services/products you may launch etc.

However blogs can also be used to make money from adsense... You can create a blog like http://golf--instructions.blogspot.com/
to drive traffic to your affiliate link or your product... That works.

Karl

Hi there. I am new to the forum and was reading all the posts. This one caught my eye. I have a blog and I am loving it! I find that as long as I post to it at least once a day, and have my ping service turned on, people can easily find it and my traffic goes up. And as long as my information is useful to my readers, they will keep coming back for more.
I agree that you can probably do alot more with an actual website, but for folks who are just starting out and don't have web building skill, a blog is really easy to set up. I personally use Blogger, but there are other platforms that are good like Typepad and Wordpress.
Hope this helps. :-)

Hi,

The problem is not: Do you need a blog or not? The problem is what do you want to do?

Sell your product, affilaite product, make money from adsense .... That is the first idea you need to create.

I created a blog cause I sell a product, and the blog is used to write down updates, news and articles about the product.
