I'm sharing the same experience and it's really useful.

I have started with email list building a few months ago and I am sending
my subscribers an interesting free report twice a month. Firstly I didn't know
if it will give extra value but by now I'm receiving lots of positive reactions.
The subscribers even wants to have more info. It's a great tool and
when subscribers are positive I believe you will get more.
