Set up a squeeze page for them to opt and get the report.

Drive traffic to your squeeze page and build your list.

You can drive traffic using articles, videos, press releases, taking part in forums web 2.0 etc

Giveaways as mentioned really help to boost your list and get things moving.

I don't think that there is one set traffic route that will bring success. Its a mixture of all and continued plugging away.

Just keep producing good content and distributing in as many ways as possible. Turn articles into pod casts and videos and research how to ensure your are maximizing the way your distribute your work.

I built my list my doing a variety of marketing activities such as postcards offline, articles, e-zine advertising in my niche, classified/display advertising magazines, PPC, Traffic exchange such as traffic swarm.

Jeez Louise...you only have three people on your list and you've been working on it for months? Not to be ugly but that's horrible. Look I build squeeze pages that have some sort of great content that people actually want. So they opt-in. I put the opt-in pages on forums and when I place the threads I usually get like 30 - 50 people sign up right away. Building a list the easy part of I.M. not the hard part. Find what people are looking for, info on viral marketing, email marketing, or list building, then make a video, or write an ebook that will help them out. Trust me they will come

I truly understand your frustration. I have been trying my hand at building a list, but there are so many different components involved, i.e. squeeze page, advertising, forums, press releases, etc. the task can be overwhelming if trying to do it yourself.

As most members above adhered to, list building is a long term process. Most of the big Internet Marketers have the resources to hire people to do the work for them or use several tools to find out what works or not.

Look it it this way. You have 3 people on your list. That's 3 people more than you had yesterday. I would suggest trying to find out the method you used to get those 3 visitors and RINSE and REPEAT! It may be a long process, but eventually your list will grow.
