Building an opt-in list using free stuffs and giveaways could be of immense help in your traffic generation efforts. Just imagine that you have an e-mail list of 10000 people. When you post a new video on Youtube, all you need to do is send an email to your list telling them to check out for a new video. You see immediate results. Suddenly from nowhere, a 1 hour old YouTube video may already have 1500 views. The bigger your list is, the more traffic you can drive to your website. All you need to do is send an e-mail telling them to check out your video, product, or what ever is it that you are promoting.

I just participated in my first giveaway event recently and I was amazed at the huge number of opt-ins I got from it!

All it takes is finding a good free report, ebook or software that you can brand with your own information or one that you've written yourself.

I will definitely be using this method again to build my list!

Freebies and timely special offers that expire soon are very effective. Everyone wants something for nothing. Make sure you monitor your optouts though you may find a correlation between freebie related optins and the same signups opting out shortly after.

Test test test and retest. I get people to sign up to my newsletter then once they have signed up take them to your up sell and down sell landing pages. Works great for me.
