Here's a tip:

When you find a highly ranked web page or - even better - an article, like at ezinearticles, view the page source and look at the keywords in the meta tags. This is a great way to get ideas for keywords to target in your own content and meta tags.

Kind of SEO reverse engineering.

I've recently learned to create highly informative content, using backlinks, and blog commenting are good SEO basics.

Thanks for the post. Don't stuff your meta tags with 100's of keywords. I once had a client who had 167 keywords in his keyword tags - True story - Google penalized him.

I think the last time I check the acceptable amount was 25 but i still think that's a bit much i keep mine between 5 - 12 per page.
