Why you won't make money...

Wow, that's kind of a negative title isn't it? I try not to be negative, but it's a hard cold fact, most people do not make money, or little money on the net.

Why?

If there was one thing that I've seen over the years (10+) that kept people from enjoying a internet lifestyle, it would b e without doubt, lack of action.

To make money we need to work and take action right? Ya, Ya, we all know it, probably sounds like a broken record to most, but it's fact, not fiction.

I'll be the first to admit that I do not always take enough action. As they say, if I had a nickle for every time...

When I say, taking action, that doesn't mean reading all the money making ebooks, or studying the latest get-rich-quick fad. It's all well and good to learn, but far too many people get stuck in the learning mode and don't do anything. I've done it myself and still catch myself from time to time. Actually just recently, probably why I am writing this post

You could read every single pdf page related to adwords, but the only way your really going to learn is by doing, plain and simple. The only way your going to make money is by doing. You could study every traffic tactic ever typed into an ebook, but you won't see a hit till you do something.

So, the big question is... How do you get your self going? One of my ways is to catch myself not doing something and do it. I also find to-do lists and goals to help. Sure not 100%, but it helps.

What about you? How have you gotten your self to take action? Maybe this thread will get us all going?

You and me both

I think if you really get down to it, even if you try something and it doesn't work, you've still gained experience.

I identify my self with that post so much.

It seem like you were talking straight to me! kind of though.

I always want to learn new stuff, and there is always things to learn. But as you said, Learning without practice is worth nothing!

To Free myself from this situation, i try to use a to do list. Every night before i sleep, i use note pad and write up what i would like to accomplish the next day.

It kind of help cos i sleep reflecting on the things i will be doing the next day! and when i get up in the morning i am focused and go straight to the point.

I also allocate some time for learning more things, so i don't feel like i am missing out!

Learning is important but I think it should be about becoming more efficient.

I am not organised enough. I am trying to organize my work to include admin, email support, customer contact, product creation, JVs, learning new stuff and content writing, newsletters wow the list goes on...

To do lists are indispensible for me but I know the trick is to have main goal - say make more money - then do things that will achieve that. I don't agree that lack of action is the problem rather lack of action on the things that really make a difference...

I think some people put in all the work at the start and just when its starting to pay off they quit as they don't see the benefits.

That's a good idea right there. Might not be new or earth shaking, but I bet VERY FEW people do it. I sure don't!

But alas, my thread has actually gotten me to take action. Not only am I going to start doing a daily to-do list, I've ripped off waxmans post and create my own to-do list!

I've even uploaded it to my site if any one wants it: Daily Action List.

If it was starting to pay off, why would they quit?

I think most people quit before they see the pay off. Maybe that's what you meant or close.

Actually there is a great story in "Think and Grow Rich", about stopping three feet from the gold.

My main problem is that when I read some tips and tricks or about a new system I take a conclusion myself that It won't work . I think negative its my fault I think, If I can change that attitude I can go well.

Ya, sure your not the only one. It also seems many people get hyped up when they read or learn something new, then the hype wears off or they start doubting. I've done that myself.
