Need to get restarted...

Hey all,

I started internet marketing in November and i went crazy spending lots of money and time. I would stay up till 4am some mornings and work on everything every chance of free time i got. I Bought lots of ebooks printed them out and read them when i wasn't by a PC. I put in the time an effort, but i failed. I stopped in February because the cost was getting to high and i wasn't making a dime. I took a break an i would love to come back and have a successful business.

I'm looking for a cheap POSSIBLE free way to get start again to make a SMALL income to start investing. I dont want to end up like i did last time. I have heard some talk about writing articles and creating my own blog on blogspot, but then i get stuck again. How do i go about getting FREE traffic?

ANY suggestions will help!

Hey buddy,

Two words for you - bum marketing.

it's a proven method, and it works.

All you need to do is apply the effort.
If you stick with that a little while, not
only will you make money, it will also
help you develop your skills to move into
other stuff with.

I agree, bum marketing would be a great way to go. Though it seems you really need to get a plan, either you own or some one else's and stick to it, like Ray said, apply the effort. Massive action = Massive success

You also have to ask yourself, did you really put in as much effort as you could, the last time you said it failed? None of want to admit when we have'nt done as much as we could have, or should have. I'll be the first to admit I do not take as much action as I should.

What exactly did you do before?

Ask all the questions you need.

I have to say i kind of fall for your post. There are actually so many people in your same situation.

There is one thing you should know, you don't need to spend much money to make money! most of what i ever learned from the internet was gotten from free sources! Everything is written on the internet and in free ebooks. ok good and fine, you could buy some ebooks some times, but what i mostly buy on the internet is software not ebooks. I have one on my signature file and it is free you can download it if you want!

As already said, bum marketing is the key! But i will advice you to stay focused In fact many people fail cos they move from one program to another wanting to get the lasted get rich quick techniques thereby loosing it all.

Like Ron and David said above, try bummarketingmethod.com. But, since you are new, I would also highly recomend the free thirtydaychallenge.com. Last years version is available, but the 2009 version starts in June. I have already studied this course, but I will also study the 2009 version that starts in June. Thanks for all the help thus far! I will most definitely be looking into bum marketing. To answer your question Ron i believe i did put in the most effort i could have every sec of my free time into researching and buying etc....but i was definitely going into way to many directions at once an only getting each thing to 50% but i was lost in this HUGE market that why i have decided to restart after i took a break and ask for direction... What was i doing before? i had multiple things going I tried having my own website with host gator where i offered a free ebook with some software in order to get a mailing list because i was told that was what i had to do to make money. i had an auto responder set up and i was starting to build a list but no income so i switched to affiliate marketing and would buy domains and forward the affiliate links to my purchased domain so it looked like my website that didn't bring any money in either but i really need a plan like you all said and i need to stick to it... but thats where i get stuck im not really sure how to make a plan or go about doing it.

Starting things and not finishing them happens to every one, I for one will admit I've done it far too many times. I still have many things I have'nt finished. I was really bad when it came to starting things and never getting them done. I'd start something that seemed like a god idea, then I'd learn or come across something else that seemed ever better. Like so many, jumping from one thing to the next.

One way I stopped, or got better was that I made up my mind I wasn't going to start anything new till I finished what was already started. I made a goal of not buying another domain until I used the ones I already had. Can't say it's worked perfectly, but I did focus and get somethings going.

Problem is, and we know this, projects unfinished are probably not going to make use money, but we keep doing it anyways.

Another problem is, it's difficult for any one to tell "you", do this or do that and it will be perfect for you. No one here knows you well enough to say what would be best, nor do we know your goals, your interests, likes or dislikes.

Sorry that's not much help, but it would be a dis-service to tell you any one plan is what you need to do.

When you get right down to it, to make money on the internet, your going to need to sell something, plain and simple, down to the bare bones.

From here you can go two ways. One way would be to sell something that is in need, or that people really want, the more desperate, the better to should sell.

Another way would be to sell something that is of interest to you, maybe a hobby you enjoy, or a subject that you might be in to. It's going to be much less like work if your interested and you'll probably have a better chance of succeeding.

You could either build a website and sell the products or services, or you could build a list and use that to sell.

Something else that people don't often think about is, what they want to create in the long run. I've started many things, that seemed like a great idea in the beginning, but they turned out to be plans that took alot of time to keep going and maintain. I ending up work so much and not getting much back in return.

These days I try to build things that in the end will run by themselves, or require little work. That's just me, but it does help me focus on what I am doing now to get the results I want in the future.

Sorry if I've rambled and if I haven't been of much help. Like I said, there are plenty of ways to make money and even more people that want to sell you what they say is the best thing since sliced bread, doesn't mean it's right for you, or that it will work for you.

Let me know if this has been any help. Maybe you can give more details on what you want out of a online business.

On a side note, those people that told you that there is money in building a list were right, it's a great way to go. Thing is, it's easy to build the list, it's tougher to make money from it. You need to build a relationship with your list, so they want to and look forward to reading your e-mails. After all, your not going to make many sales if they don't open your e-mails in the first place.
