I agree, there are different audiences with each platform. The more ways to get the word out there the better. Like others have said, content is king...don't try and sell your audience. They won't come back.

I agree, use each and every method to promote. If possible, track your links and see what is generating the most traffic. Then focus on the most effective methods

Twitter is becoming a very effective online marketing tool because of its growing community of members. Frequent and interesting updates can attract lots of followers. Aside from this, you can also tap Facebook and Myspace.

I think there's nothing wrong by doing both. Forums still works and so does social networks.

Social Network website and forum both have different strategies in order to market something...in forum you need to create useful post, and sharing what ever you expertise..in doing that it will improve your credibility and it will create trust but in social network website such facebook, myspace you need to have friends to add...create good relationship...i think better using this two as marketing tools...because combine marketing technique will increase traffic and sales....dont stick to only one marketing method

I think there's no harm in doing both, and doing in fact every kind of marketing that you have time for/can afford. It will take a lot of work to get traffic but as long as you are willing to put it in you can achieve the success you desire.

I've been using twitter and I agree with jiminic2, all I get are posts with something to sell. I started out using twitter to communicate with friends, but the out of nowhere all of these other people started following me and I made the mistake of following them just to see what they were about and now I can't find my friends posts through all of the sales posts.

I'm using facebook and twitter for my ad to target traffic.. Because it really nice and the product you going to promote is really appeared on the screen.. I mean the real pictures of your product.. Unlike in any social site, if you type your product the picture is not appeared on it. But thats only on social site.. using forum is also great idea to get traffic.

A bit of both.. but definately Twitter

I think both is definitely worth doing as the more good back links to your site the better, so links from forums and articles is good for SEO. Social networks such as Twitter can be really useful as you can get followers of certain interests and from there interact and give them advice and maybe sell them a few products along the way! But remember it’s important to make sure that you don’t just bombard them with products and over tweet! I’d do some research into how to use it for marketing as to be effective you need to make sure you continue the basic principles of social networking sites also but still drive followers to your profile and interact and respect them.
