white hat is the best because six months down the road you will get good traffic if done correctly. Because blackhat is short term you can only fool the search engines for a little while.

i think thats a common sense, which one is best...Offcourse white hat is the organic way by all means......

Of course the white hat are good and best. It may be at initial level you doesn't get so much traffic on your website by it. But it run your site for a long term.
While black hat SEO is for a short duration.

I would suggest white hat as a long term plan. Black hat will be OK for a while but search engines will see it sooner or later and then you will have to start all over again.

I agree with Shruti on this. white hat offers more long term stability whereas black hat is for short term, fast track success (which doesn't always work out to be the best option.)

Black hat methods are likely to jump up and bite you on the backside when you are least expecting it. The people who operate search engines are not idiots ... if you can find these strategies on the internet, so can they. When they do find them, they will at best counteract them, and at worst ban sites that have used them. Really not worth the effort!

Besides, what's the point of getting visitors to your site if when they get there they don't find good content - the very thing that would have attracted the search engines legitimately in the first place?

Black Hat SEO most of the times will take you no where.

The main search engines like Google and yahoo have become aware of all those little tricks and have quickly adjusted their crawling algorithm to take care of that.

They will, most of the times seriously penalize your website if you try playing some controversial ranking high games.

You Maybe able to go away with it for some time, but you will surely pay for it some time in the future.

There are some people that make thousands of dollars using black hat techniques. But don't let this fool you. I would take white hat anyday! Comparing the two techniques, the number of people making real money with black hat techniques is nothing compared to the ones making real amounts of money with white hat. Plus, black hat means you are always working on coming up with schemes and trying to be one step ahead with the search engines. The sad truth is that you can't win. So you see, white hat is the clear winner here.
