What is the best programing language for a total noob?

Have you tried Visual basics? I think it is not a very difficult one to learn. But i not into all these! I prefer to outsource this part of my work.

This is not to sound condescending, but the best web programming language to learn is HTML and CSS. After that, depending on what you want to work on, you'll want to learn JavaScript or PHP/MySQL. And if you want the greatest immediate benefit, take on PHP/MySQL. The initial hurdles are rough without guidance, but if you're willing to spend the time, the results can be pretty incredible. And even if you hire out programming work in the future, your basic understanding of programming will help you communicate with whoever you're working with.

hate to say this but pascal! is a great for newbie language just gets your brain thinking code.... IF, ELSE IF

I recommend having skills in a server-side programming language such as PHP or ASP
