I've tried a number CMS scripts but most were hard to install or did not have the features I needed. I finally decided on a french concoction because it installed easily, had a lot of support and plugins. Sometimes the translation leave something to be desired though.
It's the WebmastersWell link in my signature.

Thumbs up Very great website !

Your site is very great ! I love the style !

This CMS don't use a database. So I'm a little stressed if I have big content... so I've found this one, free and VERY VERY EASY to install too...

It's french but with multilanguage available : http://www.spip.net/en
(this is the english link)

I just start to use it yesterday but I've seen a lot of web sites using it with great result. Very easy to manage and to modify with your own style.

I've tried PHPNuke but I find it too "straight" for me.

Yours is new for me and I will keep it in favorites when I will need only a small content web site. It's usefull for webhosting without MySQL ! Great tool ! Thank you very much !

It depends on what you want to get done.

I have 1 or 2 blogs on blogger.com. My favorite is Wordpress (I also hear good things about MovableType and Typepad, but I've never used either of them).

I have installed and played around with a bunch of opensource packages that have demos on opensorucecms.com

PHP-Nuke is powerful, but complicated.
Mambo and Joomla look great, but their category structure is a pain in the neck.
I also like e107.

I would probably recommend blogger.com for first timers, especially if you don't have much HTML or web experience. Then move on to Wordpress after you realize how limited blogger.com is.

It depends what I'm trying to do!

I like Blogger for the way that you can get a blog up and running REALLY quickly on a different IP address from my other sites.

I prefer Wordpress for main blog sites, as I've found it to be a versatile and stable platform (and the upgrade process is just awesome!). I should point out though, that I'm talking here about hosting it myself, whereas I let Blogger host those sites for me.

Most recently, I've been experimenting with Drupal, which is one of the most versatile and powerful content management systems that I've come across. It blows Joomla out of the water, in my opinion and may end up being my platform of choice for non-blogging sites.

-Stefan.

I like wordpress and Joomla
Joomla used to be a pain but since 1.5 has come out I like it.

Here are couple samples
Work From Home - Work From Home
Holiday RV Marine - Helping You Have Fun On The Water | Tahoe, Sun Tracker, Nitro - Available At Holiday RV Marine
Domain Name Registration, E-mail, Web Hosting

I find Joomla also makes a nice membership platform
