I am not going to claim I am a web design expert, not even close, but here's a quick tip on how I learned pretty fast.

I learned how to create web sites by looking at the source code of sites I liked, or sites where I wondered how they did something in their layout. Of course I am not talking about stealing other designs, you can get sued for that and people have. I am simply talking about looking under the hood.

There are plenty of books to show you how to do it, but for me, I've always done better by "doing".

Course these days with blogging software like Wordpress, you really don't need to know html.

I think the easiest way to learn web design is to just edit templates and mess around. If you find a site you like look at the source to see how things are done. There are lots of WYSWIG tools for web design that make it very easy to learn.

I remember when i made my first search query on website development. It was: how to create a clickable link

Since then i have improved a lot, though i still have a long way to go.

I learned so much from the search engines. Just making a search query on Google for what i want to know.

I also used your method. I looked at the source codes of website that i found interesting.

I have never really read any book on website design. I just read articles on some specific components.

I think with website templates all over the internet begging you to use them, website designing has become less important these days. of course you need to know the basics.

Viewing Page Source has been very helpful to me in understanding just how things work together.

Interesting. I play around with templates and learned a lot in a few weeks time. With wordpress and other software you don't need to know coding, but it is very interesting and it is just something I want to master.
