Don't know if i am answering your question, but i think Dreamweaver and MS Frontpage are the industry standards.

I agree with waxman,dreamweaver is all you need.
I'm more of a coder,you should learn what's behind the design,css is the key here.
If you are talking about designing a whole template than you should try photoshop.

FrontPage is no longer supported by Microsoft. As a result, web hosting companies are dropping their support of Front Page. Microsoft Expressions is the replacement but since I've switched over to Dreamweaver, I've not kept up on Expressions.

One area you might consider is becoming a Joomla and WordPress expert. Joomla is a CMS package that would give your customer the capability to update their own content.

WordPress is typically used for blogging. More and more people are into blogging, but have a hard time setting it up and using it. Also, as more people blog, they will require custom blog sites that will fit their personality.

Both are free and people who are experts in either or both, can make a good deal of money with little competition. If you are good in graphics design and layout, both products would complement your skills.

Thanks dear I tried Dream weaver. Its really best tool I think for web design. I am trying to use it but have no command on it so facing some difficulties but its OK at all.

Dreamweaver is best tool for web designing. All professional web designers use this. You have to practice more and more to become good web designer
